Paul Mooney is a stand-up comedian, writer and actor from Oakland, California by way of Shreveport, Louisiana who is perhaps best known as the co-writer for Richard Pryor during the height of his popularity in the late 1970s and early 1980s. Despite spending most of his early career as a successful comedy writer, Mooney stepped out on stage more prominently later on, particularly on television shows such as Chappelle Show in 2003. Also responsible for helping to launch the careers of several of today's greatest comics, Paul Mooney is considered by many to be one of the greatest comedy writers on the scene today.
