Coldplay

The distinctive, lushly emotional stylings of British alt-rock band Coldplay range across the melodic spectrum. Fronted by Chris Martin, this band from London made its jump onto the international stage with its single "Yellow" in 2000. Today Coldplay is know for selling out the largest stadiums in the world and for releasing back to back top selling albums. Often compared to U2 and Radiohead, Coldplay's musical style is heavy on guitar riffs with thoughtful and fairly meaningful lyrics. Besides its success in music, the band is a firm supporter of Amnesty International and other worldly causes.
