Since the San Francisco-based indie pop duo Two Gallants released its debut LP, The Throes, in 2004, the group has managed to remain a noted fixture of the multifaceted Bay Area music scene. But with constant touring and an ardent recording schedule, the two members decided to take a break in 2009 and concentrate on other endeavors. This lull provided time for one of the members, Adam Haworth Stephens, to record his own material. Whilst the songs that Stephens creates aren't all too different from the tunes he crafts with Two Gallants, there are subtle differences that attuned listeners can discern and find latent messages of hope in. Stephens released his debut LP in 2010, and with a tour to support the release, the singer/songwriter has managed to further solidify his role as one of the more notable pop-friendly, quasi-folk musicians from the Bay Area.
