After a series of tumultuous events between Liam and Noel Gallagher, Oasis officially called it quits in 2009. In the wake of the breakup, lead singer Liam and the other instrumentalists of the group decided to carry on without Noel, changing the name to Beady Eye and picking up right where Oasis left off. Although the absence of its former lead guitarist wasn't ignored or overlooked by long-time Oasis fans, Beady Eye's music was familiar enough to keep listeners from lingering too long on the personnel shifts and name change. Liam's strong voice and presence as an enigmatic frontman remains intact, while the band continues to incorporate both Brit-pop power balladry and psychedelic-tinged rock n' roll into its music. The band's debut album, Different Gear, Still Speeding, was released in 2011.
