Chicago hip-hop duo The Cool Kids is Mickey Rocks and Chuck Inglish, a duo that first began collaborating on the internet. Mickey reached out to Inglish after stumbling across his beats on MySpace. After offering to pay for them, the two began passing material back and forth before eventually relocating to Chicago to make the partnership official. The Cool Kids embody the fun, playful energy that seminal rap group The Beastie Boys made popular. Inglish's production is a major highlight of the duo's music, as his beats often manage to sound like vintage hip-hop while still sounding fresh and new.
