Originally going by Medaphor, the Oxnard-bred rapper eventually shortened his handle to simply MED. MED's richly observed tales of street life caught the ear of the Stones Throw family and he has spent the majority of career working with other artists affiliated with the forward-thinking record label. MED fills his songs with gritty details of growing up in Oxnard and the swank stories of Los Angeles nightlife.
