Hailing from England, Skunk Anansie is a group of rebel-rousing musicians named after the West African folk character Anansie, who is notorious for his mischievous nature. The four-piece band was formed in 1994 and is often attached to the post Britpop genre known as Britrock, even though the band employs characteristic elements of electronic music in its sound. Skunk Anansie broke up in 1999 but decided to reform in 2010 to continue to spread its alternative metal-infused brand of rock music to the masses.
