The impressive instrumental prowess that all members of Trivium display during live shows is responsible for casting the band from relative obscurity in Florida into the global hard rock music scene. Oftentimes, heavy metal is difficult for bands to translate live because there are so many studio nuances and production methods that comprise the metal sound. But, surprisingly, Trivium is able to pull it off and create stage shows that nearly eclipse its studio sound. Founded in 1999, the group spent some years refining its sound and honing its sonic approach before entering the studio to record its 2003 debut album, Ember to Inferno.
