Prong is a heavy metal band that emerged out of New York City's thrash metal scene during the early 1990s. With a minimalist, urban take on the otherwise abrasive genre, the band dropped its first album, Force Fed, in 1988 with Southern Record before signing with Epic Records and releasing its debut major label offering, 1990's Beg to Differ. Throughout the years, Prong has incorporated elements of hardcore punk and electronic music into its sound while staying true to its thrash metal roots on albums such as 2012's Carved Into Stone.
