Born and raised in Norwalk, Connecticut, Adam Nussbaum began playing the drums at age 12. Since then he has developed a name for himself as a modern jazz drummer with an impressive post-bop style. First beginning his drumming career in the 1970s, Nussbaum's talent was quickly recognized and he was asked to join multiple jazz groups and orchestras--his most famous work is probably with the Michael Brecker Quintet for its Grammy-winning song "Don't Try This At Home." Now based out of New York, the drummer still performs with various groups and teaches at many of the city's prominent universities.
