Ben Lee is an Australian indie pop songwriter from Sydney. As a teenager, he experienced his first brush with success with his first band, Noise Addict. The group found modest exposure in the mid-1990s and earned the support of influential artists such as Sonic Youth, Sebadoh and Mike D from The Beastie Boys. In 1995, Lee released his first solo album, effectively ending his ties with Noise Addict in order to focus on his new career path. Critics and fans alike took to his timeless sense of song-craft and melody, both of which seemed to extend far beyond his young age. Since that initial success, Lee has continued to mature in his songwriting, peppering his albums with good-natured folk and indie pop flourishes. In his spare time, he is one third of The Bens, alongside Ben Kweller and Ben Folds.
