Industry Immersion Expo - Ozwater'21

Secondary School students and teachers have the opportunity to attend a specifically designed student industry immersion experience at the OzWater21 conference on Thursday the 6th of May, at the Adelaide Convention Centre.

Ozwater is Australias international water conference and tradeexhibition, andis run annually by the Australian Water Association in partnership with Fulton Hogan (Ozwater Education Partner).

The industry immersion experience provides an opportunity for students and teachers to:

Learn about the range of industries and occupations linked to the Australian Water Sector, and related career pathway opportunities. These include trade and professional pathways across a range of areas including, but not limited to, building and construction, civil construction, engineering, electrotechnology and management.Learn about skills and capabilities required by industryTalk directly to companies currently involved with the Australian Water sectorAsk employers about current and future careers within their industryVisit exhibitors to learn more about technology used in the Water Industry

Places are limited to 150 students. Please order a ticket for each student who will be attending the event.

Prior to the event you will be contacted to select the exhibitors your students wish to visit.

The industry immersion experience will follow the agenda below:

9:00 9:30: Welcome9:30 10:45: Connect to IndustryStudents learn about the vast range of career opportunities in the water industryStudents hear from a range of employers about their careers, their typical workday and the knowledge and skills required to be successful in the industry.Students have the opportunity to talk with and ask questions10:45 11:00: Presentation from Stockholm Junior Prize Winner Macinley ButsonOverview of Stockholm Junior Prize by Katie Trevor (Event Manager, Australian Water Association)11:00 11:30: Morning tea including a presentation from Young Water Professional of the Year11:30 12:15: Exhibition HallStudents groups select 5 exhibitors they would like to visit allowing them to learn more about that organisations career & pathway opportunities12:15 1:15: Lunch (Please exit the Exhibition Hall)1:15 2:00: Concluding sessionWhat did you like?What inspired you?What other information would you like/need to consider a career in water?Would you consider a career in water?
