Blackstreet is a contemporary R&B group from New York City that was founded in 1991. After releasing its first single "Baby Be Mine," in 1993, the band dropped its eponymous debut album in 1994, earning widespread commercial acclaim with hit songs such as "Booti Call" and "Before I Let You Go." Riding its sudden wave of success, the band dropped its subsequent record, Another Level, in 1996--taking home the 1998 Grammy Award for Best R&B Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocals for the album's number one single, "No Diggity." Though its popularity began to wane into the 2000s, Blackstreet continues to release records such as 2003's Level II, which is packed full of smooth R&B.
