The Danish band Spleen United (yes, very interesting name) is one of those groups that traded its guitars in for synthesizes. While the five-piece makes easily accessible pop-structured songs, the instrumentation that's employed provides the group with a strong electronic sonic aesthetic, causing the band to be clumped together with similar acts that fall into the dance-punk genre. Formed in 2002, Spleen United has had a fairly respectable career and while it's hard to tell if the band will ever gain widespread attention, the group's legacy, thus far, has already proven to be interesting.
