Orissa is a state that is dotted with temples and religious places, all belonging to different deities and gods. Each of these temples have a colorful story behind their existence as well as origin. The Sakshi Gopal Temple is one such shrine which was built using the Kalinga form of architecture. This ancient temple was erected in the name of Lord Gopal and that is where the town gets its name from as well. There are various rituals and festivals celebrated at this holy sanctuary but one of the main festival is Anla Navami.
