Dedicated in 1909, this landmark park's history actually dates back to 1855. Once home to an amphitheater, Fairground Park now holds a nine-acre fishing area, rest areas, a playground, softball, soccer and football fields, a pool and a skating rink. Much has changed since the livestock and poultry showings of its early days. Today, the park is a favorite amongst locals and reserved to many visitors each year. Best of all, the park entrance showcases old bear pits from the 1800s, reminding everyone who enters of the rich history to be learned here.
