The Nursemaids & Shepherds Parade takes place a day after the Tinker’s Parade on the first Sunday of February and theatrically depicts a time when shepherds used to come to the town to try and court nursemaids. The parade is made up of dancers drummers and costumed performers. The most awaited moment of the event is when the nursemaids throw their (toy!) babies into the sky. Classical music by the Basque composer Sarriegui is also a trademark of the festivities.
